Most financial advisors are always looking for ways to get more local business and get more people in their community to know about them. I’m Samantha Russell from Twenty Over Ten, and today I have some really easy strategies for you to make more people in your local community aware of your business.

Tip #1) Feature Local Businesses Or Nonprofits On Social Media

So, let’s dive right in. Number one – share on social media about other businesses or nonprofit organizations in your community. If you once a week highlight another local organization, business, restaurant, whatever it is that you want to highlight and you tag those companies or restaurants or whatever it is you’re highlighting, they are going to be really likely then to like, comment or re-share your post.

So you could have a weekly strategy that every Monday you share a really great organization or restaurant. “Local place of the week” is what you could call it. So people are going to start following your account because you’re sharing and highlighting things in the local community that are relevant to them.

Tip #2) Share Local Events and Functions On Social Media

Another way you could do this is once a month, you could share a what’s going on in ______. So, “What’s going on in Indianapolis this February” for instance. And you could have a quick rundown of the top events that are happening in town, different organizations that are putting on different functions, or things people should be aware of. Then of course you want to tag all of those different businesses or events as well.

So in both of these strategies what you’re doing is not focusing on your own business, but highlighting other local businesses, organizations and events that are happening in your town. And in both of these scenarios, if you are tagging those other folks’ accounts, they’re going to be really likely to comment, like, or share your post which is going to bring more awareness to their followers of your company. And you’ll start to be known as a really great account to follow on social media to get latest updates on what’s happening in the in the community, what events are going on, and what people should know about.

I’m Samantha Russell from Twenty Over Ten. If you like this quick tip make sure you follow our YouTube account or follow Twenty Over Ten on social media for even more tips on how to grow your advisory business. Thanks and see you next week.
