Digital marketing should be a top priority for financial advisors. In order to make it easier, there are a variety of free digital marketing tools out there for you to use. Twenty Over Ten, CMO Samantha Russell shares 7 of the top free tools.
What are the best free marketing tools that I should be using? That is a tough question that we get all of the time here at Twenty Over Ten, and today I’m going to share 7 of my favorite free digital marketing tools with all of you. I’m Samantha Russell from Twenty Over Ten and let’s jump right in.
So, tool number one that is completely free to use and that I highly recommend is called Canva. It is a tool that allows you to create any kind of visual that you might need for social media, for emails, you can create infographics, social media posts, you can create annual reports for your company, all kinds of great stuff and they have thousands of different templates. So if you have a couple of different people on your team or you’re a sole proprietor, you can upload your company logos, your color palette, and all of your communications will look like you paid a lot of money for a graphic designer to customize them for you. But it’s a free tool that you can use. So I highly recommend Canva.
Okay, tool number two is called Headliner. So just like today, I am recording a video for all of you. We want to have captions on these videos so that when people are watching them on social media with the sound off, they know what it is that you’re saying. To do that you can use a tool called Headliner, and Headliner allows you for free to upload your video and it will caption the video for you. So that is a great tool that you can use again that’s called Headliner.
Tool number three is called Loom. If you already are using Zoom which is really popular for video conferencing, it kind of is like that except that it is a web-based tool that allows you to also easily capture anything on your desktop. So it will show your camera and your desktop all at once, and you can easily do it from any page on the web. So if you want to walk a client through you know contributions to an HSA or you want to open up their portfolio and record a quick video to send to them, I love Loom for customized video screen sharing for things you want to zip off to clients and specific communications to them. So again that is
The next tool or tip would be when you’re looking for really high-quality photos that you can use, that you don’t have to pay a royalty fee to use whether it’s for your blog, for social media posts, any kind of communication, there are two sites I want you to check out that we use here at Twenty Over Ten all the time, and those are called Unsplash and Pixabay. So Unsplash and Pixabay are the two best places that I recommend people go for royalty use anywhere photos.
Okay, the next two tools are related to SEO and analytics. So number one, when you want to know what keywords are leading people to find me online, how is my website ranking for search terms like Financial Advisor Baltimore, Maryland you want to really get specific on what search queries are making people land on your site, I suggest you use Google Search Console. Not many advisors have this set up, but it is an amazing tool that will unlock all of the queries that lead people to find your site in the search results and then it will actually show you when somebody does a search like “Financial Advisor Baltimore,” where on the page are you ranking for that term on average? So are you in the 6th position? the 1st position? the 28th position? It will also show you not only what position you are in, but how many people are clicking on your result once they see you in the list of results.
So the next tool, tool number six is Google analytics. So this is a separate tool, separate from Google Search Console. What I love about Google Analytics is that you can look at the full journey that people are taking when they land on your website. What are your most popular pages? How long are people spending on those pages? When they land on your most popular blog post, where do they go next? What do they read? What’s the last page most people are seeing before they leave your site? It gives you so much intel that you can then use to optimize your site to further drive people to those calls-to-action you really want them to complete. So again, that’s Google Analytics.
And then the last tip that I have or the last free tool would be content. So, you know that you need content to propel your marketing strategies. Of course, content that you create and that you produce for yourself will always be free. So you can use content to create social media posts, to write blog posts, you can create videos like this for free. All of this is things that you can create for free and put out there that will lead people to your site. I do know that many of you are struggling to create content regularly, and it’s not something that you either have time for or your comfortable with.
So we here at Twenty Over Ten do offer content that advisors can use in their communications with their clients. And actually right now amid the pandemic that we’re experiencing and the market turmoil, we are actually offering one month free on our Lead Pilot tool which is our inbound marketing tool that comes with a full Content Library with infographics, videos and blog pieces that you can use anywhere and you can actually get that for one month free. So we do offer a month to month subscription. So you would sign up- the first month would be free. And then if for some reason you want to cancel after that you can, but you would have access to the tool during that month and get all the content that way.
So those again are my 7 tips for you of free tools that you can use to propel your marketing strategy. I’m Samantha Russell from Twenty Over Ten, and make sure you subscribe to Twenty Over Ten’s YouTube channel if you found this helpful where we will send you a new marketing tip via a short video like this every single week. Thanks everyone.
